Welcome to the Florida ePrescribe Clearinghouse
The creation of the Florida ePrescribe Clearinghouse website was a joint effort among employees of the Office of Health Information Technology located within the Agency for Health Care Administration, Florida Center for Health information and Policy Analysis. Information contained in this website is a result of the generous cooperation, participation, and guidance from members of the Florida Electronic Prescribing Advisory Panel, ePrescribe Florida, SureScripts- RxHub and other numerous associations, organizations, programs, news sources, and vendors.
The mission of the Florida ePrescribe Clearinghouse is to provide information that contributes to the promotion and implementation of electronic prescribing by health care practitioners, health care facilities, and pharmacies in order to prevent prescription drug abuse, improve patient safety, and reduce unnecessary prescriptions.
During the 2007 legislative session HB1155 was passed into law thereby creating Section 408.0611, Florida Statutes, and by which the Florida ePrescribe Clearinghouse was created. |

| A list of core information as set forth in the requirements of Section 408.0611, F.S. is included below and linked to areas of related information on the Florida ePrescribe Clearinghouse for your information and easy access:
In addition to the requirements stated in the above statute, the Florida ePrescribe Clearinghouse website also includes links to other ePrescribing information relevant to the adoption of ePrescribing in Florida. The first link of note is to ePrescribing programs being used by the Florida Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIOs). Three RHIOs currently use or are planning to implement ePrescribing into their core services. The Tampa Bay RHIO uses eMPOWERx from Gold Standard, which is the same application used in the Florida Medicaid ePrescribing pilot. In the Northeast Florida Health Information collaborative, the Duval County Health Department uses an electronic pharmacy record system, InteRx from Interactive Systems Management, Inc. The Big Bend RHIO has integrated an ePrescribing function into its core services.
A second additional link on the website is to pages currently dedicated to the Florida Electronic Prescribing Advisory Panel. However, this area of the website will also include future workgroups as applicable. The opening web page lists the panel members and links to meeting agendas, minutes, and related materials posted for each Panel meeting.
